Top 5 Things: I DID IN CALIFORNIA ON VACATION
1. Pool side lunch and reading I never thought that I would ever have the gumption to lay in a floating lounge chair and just read and drink my Corona. My daughter enjoyed pool side root beer floats and alfredo noodles. Crazy to think that us country liven' girls could turn to valley girl in just three days but it happened.
2. Family time I personally haven’t seen my dad in five years and his lovely soon to be bride gave us an all-expenses paid trip to California for my dad's 50th birthday. He was able to physically see his grandson and love on his kids and grandbabies. We spent time together which was much needed and very pleasant.
3. Played in the waves We drove about an hour through Topanga mountains to get to a parking lot that was both a mile away from Venice beach and Santa Monica. We chose Santa Monica because of the Ferris wheel. We played in the ocean letting the waves slam against us. Little man loved it and so did Buggy we have pictures of her egging on the waves saying, "Come at me!" It was such an amazing time. The down side is that sand was EVERY WHERE! That and my flip flop broke
4. Rode a big AF Ferris wheel I have ridden a Ferris wheel before at small town fairs. We not only went to the Santa Monica beach but the pier too. My little man rode for free because he is three so after spending 20 dollars the kids and I rode the giant Ferris wheel. I made a tik tok and took plenty of pictures. The view from the top was amazing a bit windy but it was an overall awesome experience. We drove back the way we came.
5. Black Valentine My dad is the bassist for Black Valentine. Not only did I get to see them play live for my dad's 50th birthday bash. I heard my dad sing Ring of Fire and that was an experience! I have never heard my dad sing before in my life. Seeing him in his element was amazing. The band did their cover of Kashmir and played their set without a hitch. The party was a blast and the last three standing were my dad, a family friend, and me.
Granted there were more things done while we were there, but this was a list of my top five. I had some experiences that we can't talk about right now, but it was a much-needed vacation. I am glad to be home. I missed my bed.
